Welcome to Wealth Section Articles! | Entering Awards can Boost your Practice
By: Hannah McNamara
Winning prestigious awards and commendations adds credibility to your business and your services.
In many cases it's free to enter yourself for national and local business awards. Choose the ones that will be recognised by your clients for maximum impact.
Imagine the publicity being named 'Entrepreneur of the Year' would generate for you if you were coaching entrepreneurs and business owners. How about being one of the 'Ones to Watch' in your market place?
And remember that the winners usually get a prize!
One businesswoman I met had won a tailor-made designer suit. Not only did she look great, it will have made a big difference to her confidence when she went to meetings with business clients.
Other prizes include cash that can be used to finance your business.
Even if you don't win, you may still be able to use the fact that you were nominated for an award. You could include a mention in your press releases, on your website and in the newsletters you send out to clients.
If you're shy about nominating yourself, don't be. Lots of business owners do this to increase their profile. Remember, you can always get someone to nominate you if you can't bear the thought of self-promotion!
