Welcome to Personal Growth Section Articles! | 5 people to inspire you

There is a maxim that we become the average of the 5 people we spend most time with. If we want to be financially successful, the sad fact is that we cannot spend the major part of our time rescuing those who are not. If we want to be fit – don’t hang around couch potatoes! Flying with the Eagles is our only chance of becoming one. Developing a support network that reflects how we see ourselves at our best, pushes us towards an empowering, compelling vision of our amazing possibilities. Our best friends are not the ones who make us feel comfortable, but the ones who push us to go beyond what our reasoning tells us.
In my experience, most of us have no concept of the power within us to achieve amazing things and make a real difference. Some negative message from the past saddles us with limiting self-talk, that persuades us to turn back from actions that would be truly outstanding and generate self-esteem and confidence beyond our wildest dreams. Every now and then, we do something beyond the normal comfort zone, and discover where the emotional goodies lie…pushing our boundaries to reveal the extraordinary qualities that go beyond our learning, qualifications and conditioning. The nobility and power of the essential human spirit is the most amazing source for wellbeing that we have. What a shame when we suffocate it through a desire to be safe and comfortable.
Sometimes we feel emotional when we witness an act of outstanding courage, skill or endurance by another. It might be Mandela, Ghandi or Beckham, but my belief is that in that moment, we get a tiny glimpse of the best in all of us. That realisation strikes us at our very core. We know we have played small, and see the effect we can all have when we lift our sights to the stars.
So who are your 5? Are they comfortable or stretching? What attributes do they have that push you, encourage you, inspire you? Choose them well and the average of them that you become, will make you stand out like a beacon.
