TreeHouse

By: Hannah Barham

In recent months there has been a lot of change to the outside of our new National Centre for Autism Education in Muswell Hill as the fascia was completed and the scaffolding removed. It is now much easier to see what the building will finally look like, particularly now the sedum roof has been planted. On the inside, work continues apace as plastering, painting, joinery, mechanical and electrical works are all taking place.

Within TreeHouse, the emphasis is on planning and getting ready to migrate into the new building this summer. Careful consideration is taking place of how to involve the TreeHouse young people as much as possible so that they understand how their school is changing. Secondary pupils were recently involved in trips to Highgate Woods and St James school to help in choosing equipment for their new playground. It isnt always easy to find ways to consult the TreeHouse pupil group and this was a good opportunity to enable them to express their likes and dislikes!

Many thanks to St James school for their support.
